Brief Description

Position Description:
The Beer Hall Shift Lead is an integral role in ensuring an excellent customer experience at Counter Weight Brewing. They will lead by example, setting the tone and standards for excellence, and will constantly be looking for ways to improve the customer experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Beer Hall staff leadership, motivation, and development
• Key holding for opening/closing of the building
• Be an ambassador for the values of Counter Weight Brewing
• Ensure guest area cleanliness
• Cash handling, including end of night cash drawer reconciliation, and making nightly drops post shift
• Ensure draft list is up-to-date in the beer hall as well as online
• Ensure cans/bottles are up-to-date in the online store
• Ensure Beer Hall Servers are cut when necessary
• Ensure Beer Hall Staff are executing best practices when pouring/serving beer, interacting with customers, cleaning and polishing glassware, maintaining guest area cleanliness, among other responsibilities
• Ensure that Beer Hall Staff keeps walk-in cooler organized when changing kegs
• Observe and coach the Beer Hall Staff to provide the best customer experience possible
• Champion the guest experience, looking for ways to improve the guest experience using best practices and procedures
• Answer Beer Hall Staff questions regarding POS system
• Ensure Beer Hall Staff is not over-serving guests
• Move throughout guest spaces to keep an eye on happenings
• Ensure that Beer Hall Staff have clocked in and out for their shifts
• Checking opening/closing list to ensure all tasks have been completed correctly
• Building closing including, but not limited to, ensuring all doors/windows are locked, lights are off, and final building walk-through
• Complete and send shift report at the end of every shift
• Other duties as assigned

Necessary Skills:

• Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email, internet usage)

• Current TIPS certification, or ability to complete TIPS certification once hired
• Other functions as necessary

Desired Qualifications:
• 1-2 years managerial experience (taproom/bar setting preferred)
• 2-3 years hospitality experience (taproom/bar setting preferred)

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, kneel, sit, stoop, push, pull, and lift for extended periods of time
• Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
• Acute sensory abilities
• Ability to follow and effectively execute safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment, and safe chemical handling procedures in regard to taproom and guest area cleanliness

Salary/Hourly Range

$16 - $18 per hour + tips
