Chicago Chapter Q2 Brew Day @ Dovetail

We are brewing a Belgian Tripel with Dovetail!
8am - Milling (hands-on opportunity)
9am - Mash In
11am - Decoction Pull
1:30pm - Boil begin (hands-on opportunity)
3pm - Pumpover into coolship (the best part of the day)
4pm - Knockout (hands-on opportunity)
Lights out: 6pm
We will be participating in a full day tour of the brewery, where Pink Boots members will be guided through every step of the process. We will also have Jen from Malteurop and Rob from Hop Head farms in attendance to elaborate and highlight some of the ingredients going into our beer.

Joining us in the morning will be Alice Jun, owner / brewer of Hana Makgeolli in Brooklyn, NY. We'll taste her Makju and Hwaju, and she'll talk a bit about makgeolli and her brewery. She's a very cool person and we lucked out with her being in town at this time, and taking some of that time to spend it with us!

Then, at some point after the lauter is finished, we'll be enjoying what we call Treberwurst -- a tradition borrowed from Swiss winemakers -- where we'll heat up sausages in the hot spent grain for lunch. We'll have both meat and plant-based options available. Please specify if you need a vegetarian option when you sign up.

Other snacks and coffee will be provided and feel free to bring some beers to share.
