Speaker Biography:
Jacob Kirkendall is a scientist with KalHops. His focus there is on development of advanced hop
extracts with application in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Before joining KalHops,
Jacob was a brewing instructor at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and worked at Short’s
Brewing Company in their quality control laboratory. In 2017, while interning at Bell’s Brewery, he
published research relating to dry hop creep and its effect on ethanol production in beer. Jacob
received his Bachelors in Chemistry from Western Michigan University in 2017 as well as a
certificate in Sustainable Brewing from Kalamazoo Valley Community College the same year.
