My life isn’t traditional, so at 50 years of age and into my second As I navigate my path through the craft beer industry it has become apparent that we need to do more to create a broader diversity pattern other than the one that has been laid before us. I know that it is going to take effort, and this will not be an easy road to navigate. Things like this take drive, passion, commitment, and above all else, it takes the right people willing to unlearn what they have been previously taught. It is my belief that by appointing teams within each brewery to help understand and guide all staff to embrace these new points of view.
I am taking hold of my life in a way that ensures I am doing those things that challenge me; and that make me a better Brewer/Manager/Beertender/Mentor and most importantly, a great listener. That is what I believe is key. I had established Alaska’s first Pink Boots Chapter. We had started building a formidable chapter that was filled with so many female/female-X that where ready to take on all the challenges we are all confronted with. My ongoing celebration and love for the craft beer industry is undying; the future is untold, and I await its every moment.
Cheers,
Sarah P
