The Cellar Associate will assist the Cellar Manager to effectively coordinate the activities of the production department and maintain all stock levels. We’re looking for a self-motivated, team focused, individual who can assist us in growing our cellar efficiencies. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of our production facility, and proactively work to maintain a quality first approach to cocktail building, and assisting packaging with cocktail preparation. Position Requirements: Use good manufacturing practices to mix, blend, filter, and process world class cocktails and components Maintain cellar cleanliness and organization standards Coordinate with Cellar Manager to fulfill production schedule Maintain inventory of base spirits and ready to package products Communicate with leadership to understand upcoming production schedule and plan materials organization accordingly to meet goals Perform preventive maintenance as required for processing equipment Record and input production information within distillery/winery tracking software Perform and record QC records in accordance with TTB requirements and internal standards Work closely with Cellar Manager to develop and implement Quality Management system Leverage experience to evaluate current manufacturing processes and advise changes to benefit product quality and efficiency Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures. Keep up to date job knowledge and operational trends by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations. Operate forklift according to established safety standards. Following safety protocols and proactively work to mitigate potential safety risks Support the protocols set for improvements to the production space: cardboard recycling, plastic film recycling, etc.; Implement recycling and trash protocols; day to day protocols/responsibilities. Properly dispose of waste materials according to Straightaway policy, including for recycling, composting, and hazardous wastes Effectively manage water and energy use to reduce Straightaway’s environmental impact
Qualifications: 2-3 years experience in a related cellar role or relevant degree Proven organization and data entry skills, with high attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain a clean work environment. Physical requirements: Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, stand for the duration of a shift, lift 55 pounds, and maneuver 300 pounds repeatedly. Proper handling of hazardous materials and operation of complex machinery. Experience operating a forklift is preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills.
