The Pink Boots Society is excited to announce and introduce the two ladies that have been selected to receive a scholarship for a one-year membership to Crafting A Strategy. Each was chosen by a selection committee of experienced women beer professionals who hold positions as brewers, educators and writers.

Kristine Bobrosky is currently the Tasting Room Supervisor at Bravery Brewing in Lancaster, CA, the owners of which she met while working as a wine steward at The Grand Hotel in Michigan. Prior to working in the beer and wine industry she went to school for business management and in the future would like to combine her experience in both to work on the administrative and business development side of the brewery.

This course, she says, “will help me understand in greater depth the business strategy behind the beer industry; something that I will able to relate to my small business management studies. With this knowledge I will be able to make sense of various strategies of business improvement in our industry.” Beyond benefiting her own career, Kristine is looking forward to sharing what she learns with her Pink Boots Society chapter and perhaps beyond. “I feel my LA Chapter needs someone to share business insight with them that they can implement in their workplaces. I am not afraid of being a teacher. I also have this dream in assisting in the development of brewery education program at our local colleges.”

Patricia Low is the co-founder/owner of BarmHaus Brewing Co. in Garden Valley, CA. It is a project that she dove into in 2016 with minimal previous homebrewing or professional beer industry skills, instead trusting her business partner’s words and his amazing beer. She says, “We are maintaining in spite of the fact that our team has no previous professional experience to draw from. On the plus side, all the interactions I have had with other industry members the last few years has proven to be insightful and helpful to our brewery.”

Those interactions include connecting with a neighboring brewery, facilitated by connections she has made as a Pink Boots Society member, to brew a Pink Boots collaboration beer. The beer has been well received by her customers and Patricia is extremely proud of being involved in the entire process of its creation. “Just recently I had a customer buy a case of our Pink Boots collaboration beer. He told me that the beer was unique, worth the cost and it was extra special because it was a part of the Pink Boots organization.”

Crafting A Strategy (CAS) is a global online learning platform that will be available to the scholarship recipients for one year. Used in universities and breweries all over the world, CAS has over 150 digital content pieces specific to the business needs of brewing entrepreneurs. These include podcasts, webinars, case studies, white papers, instructional videos, blogs, and a professional forum. Scholarship recipients will also receive a weekly CAS newsletter with industry analysis, advice, and links to new content and forums.

In addition to attending the course, each of the ladies will each receive a pair of pink steel-toe rubber boots when she fulfills the Pay It Forward requirement associated with the scholarship.
