Pink Boots Society and D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. are excited to introduce the 2021 recipient of the Yuengling Women in Brewing Scholarship: Stephanie Miracle! Stephanie has selected the Siebel Institute’s WBA Concise Course in Brewing Technology and will be attending in-person this fall.

Stephanie Miracle is the first female brewer of Lexington, KY! She is active at both Country Boy Brewing locations; in Georgetown as a Cellarperson and in Lexington as a Brewer, where she has hosted three Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Days® creating Pink Brut: Strawberry/Hibiscus Brut IPA, Girls Just Wanna Have Plumb: NEIPA with Plumb, and most recently Kentucky Girls: Hoppy Lager. Stephanie was featured on the Boys Are From Marzen: A Women in Beer Podcast as well as an article in Lexington Herald Leader focusing on her recent collaboration with Nappy Roots of Atlantucky Brewery. When Stephanie isn’t busy at the breweries, she enjoys homebrewing and is a member of Brewers of Central Kentucky (BOCK). Stephanie’s main career goal right now is to dig into the minutiae of brewing and fermentation process, and hopes to make a life for herself in the fermented beverage industry. She believes this course will give her a greater, in-depth look at the sciences involved in the brewing process, increasing her knowledge as both a brewer and a cellarperson. Stephanie considers herself a dry sponge, wanting to soak up as much information as she can.

The WBA Concise Course in Brewing Technology covers a similar range of topics as those presented in our advanced-level programs, but at a depth which allows those with only moderate understanding of brewing science and technology to participate in the course. This is an ideal course for those considering entry into the brewing industry, as well as those pursuing a wider knowledge of the business in order to improve their skills and advance in their brewing careers. The course also offers the best way to prepare for our advanced-level programs should you decide to take them at a later date.
