Road to Cicerone® Courses includes a suite of study books that focus on a particular region of beer styles or area of study such as Keeping and Serving, Brewing Ingredients and Process, and beer styles and history to help candidates prepare for the Certified Cicerone® exam. This scholarship is perfect for any brewery owner, beer bar manager, bartender, server, beer writer, beer educator, beer distributor, brewery sales representative or beer chef. These coursebooks will enhance your knowledge of brewing techniques, raw ingredients, how to properly keep and store beer, beer styles of specific regions, and the language to clearly discuss beer. Each self-paced coursebook should take 12 hours to complete and includes a specialist exam to validate your knowledge to assist you on your journey to Master Cicerone®. Use the specialist exam to enhance your Certified Beer Server credentials by earning a course pin when you pass or to take unlimited times to quiz yourself for the Certified Cicerone®, Advanced Cicerone®, or Master Cicerone® exams  Because these books will be shipped to the recipient, it is easily available to PBS members in any nation and we encourage our International members to apply. Recipients must have a account to receive access to the Road to Cicerone specialist exams. The Certified Cicerone exam is held throughout the world, please visit for exam details and locations. This course is currently offered in English at this time.

Required Applicant Qualifications: Any woman, anywhere in the world, who earns at least 25% of her income from the brewing industry, is qualified for Pink Boots Society membership and to apply for any scholarship.  Click here to join or to connect with us. Terms and Conditions: All PBS scholarships have a “Pay It Forward” (PIF) requirement, where our scholarship recipients are required to pass on the specific knowledge they gained in their scholarship course to other PBS members and to the industry in general within 6 months of completing the course. This is accomplished through many means like publishing an article, publishing a blog on a reputable website, or giving a presentation at a local, regional or national professional seminar or conference.  Evidence of PIF must be sent to PBS for validation and if applicable, for posting on the PBS website. Many recipients choose to PIF at their local chapter meetings, but you can also present at our annual CBC and GABF meetings.

All courses require successful completion of the course. Recipients will be billed 50% (up to $500) of the course value if they do not successfully complete the course. As a condition of accepting the scholarship, the recipient (or recipient’s employer) will be liable for these charges if the course is not completed with passing marks in the amount of $99 USD to Pink Boots Society (or equivalent to PBS international chapters)

Once the PIF is verified, the recipient will receive a Pink Boots Society flannel shirt.
